Mirko Cro Cop’s retirement from mixed martial arts didn’t last long.
Rumors have been swirling all week that Cro Cop would come out his year-long-plus retirement for a matchup against fellow kickboxing legend Pedro Rizzo, and now it appears as though this fight is indeed going to happen.
Royal FC 1 is tentatively scheduled to be held at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro next January or February, and the card will include Cro Cop vs. Rizzo as well as Andrei Arlovski vs. Jeff Monson.
Brazilian MMA journalist Ana Hissa confirmed that verbal agreements are in place for both bouts, and the only thing the promotion is waiting for is to close the arena deal to make the event official.
