With Halloween around the corner it seems natural to see things brought back from the dead as was the case this week when Japanese promotion DREAM held a press conference announcing a December 31 show at Saitama Super Arena. DREAM’s parent company went bankrupt earlier this year, though Dutch company Glory Sports International has stepped in to help fund the event.
The still-developing card will feature appearances from Satoru Kitaoka, Hiroyuki Takaya, and Tatsuya Kawajiri. It will also involve a blend of kickboxing bouts in addition to the standard MMA fare.
Kawajiri Focused on Featherweight Future, Not Lightweight Past
News of DREAM’s return was confirmed by officials at a press conference announcing the card.
Tuning in to DREAM action has become a staple on New Year’s Eve for hardcore fans over the past few years. No word was given on if DREAM will stick around beyond the recently revealed lineup.
