UFC 149 Results – Barao wins interim title, Boetsch upsets Lombard

The interim bantamweight championship is up for grabs when Urijah Faber battles Renan Barao in the main event of UFC 149. Also on tap is the highly anticipated UFC debut of Hector Lombard who takes on Tim Boetsch a high profile middleweight bout.

UFC 149 takes place from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 21st. The pay-per-view main card will kick-off at 10:00pm ET. Two preliminary bouts will be streamed free on the UFC’s Facebook page at 7:00pm ET and four preliminary bouts will be televised on FX at 8:00pm ET.

Anton Kuivanen defeated Mitch Clarke by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Antonio Carvalho defeated Daniel Pineda by knockout at 1:11 of the first round.

Preliminary Card (FX)

Bryan Caraway defeated Mitch Gagnon by rear-naked choke submission at 1:39 of the third round.

Ryan Jimmo defeated Anthony Perosh by knockout in just :07 seconds of the first round. Jimmo ties the record for the fastest knockout in UFC history.

Francisco Rivera defeated Roland Delorme by knockout at 4:19 of the first round.

Nick Ring defeated Court McGee by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Main Card (PPV)

Matt Riddle defeated Chris Clements by arm-triangle choke at 2:02 of the third round.

James Head defeated Brian Ebersole by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

Cheick Kongo defeated Shawn Jordan by unanimous decision (30-28, 30-27, 30-27).

Tim Boetsch defeated Hector Lombard split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

Renan Barao defeated Urijah Faber by unanimous decision (49-46, 50-45, 49-46) to capture the interim bantamweight title.
