Resurrection Fighting Alliance Signs 2008 Olympian Steve Mocco for MMA Debut

Midwestern-based MMA promotion Resurrection Fighting Alliance has signed 2008 Olympian and 2x NCAA Division 1 National Champion Steve Mocco to a five-fight contract for the talented heavyweight prospect. His debut has not been set as of this post. Onthemat.com first reported the signing.

Mocco is one of the best heavyweight talents to enter MMA in a long time. His wrestling style blends Judo techniques with freestyle and folkstyle wrestling. Mocco defeated Cain Velasquez, Mohammed Lawal, and Bellator heavyweight champion Cole Konrad during his wrestling career. His rivalry with Konrad will likely make Bellator very interested in his five-fight stretch with RFA. His physical and aggressive style should lend itself well to MMA.

RFA is based out of Kearny, Nebraska and was launched in 2011. The promotion is the current home of MMA prospects like Dakota Cochrane and Bubba Jenkins, as well as former UFC fighters Joe Stevenson and Tyson Griffin.
