Aston Martin Racing has joined forces with The Racer’s Group to field a factory-supported team in the American Le Mans Series in 2013.
The Vantage GTE that will be used to compete in the series will be unveiled at the ALMS annual winter test on February 7-8.
The partnership will be the first time a factory-supported Aston team had competed in the full ALMS since Prodrive’s 2006 GT1 campaign.
The Racer’s Group, which competed in NASCAR from 2007 to 2011, has been competing in the ALMS’ one-make Porsche GTC class in recent seasons.
“Aston Martin Racing, as a factory-supported entity, has truly arrived in North America,” said TRG boss Kevin Buckler. “This programme is massive and far-reaching.
“What we have crafted with Aston Martin Racing is the ability for TRG-AMR North America to compete in all the major race series with multiple teams.”
Alongside its ALMS effort, TRG will also run Astons in Grand-Am and a new one-make series.
