The World Touring Car Championship has finalised its 2013 calendar, confirming the return of the Marrakech street race, and dropping its Spanish round.
The provisional calendar issued in September featured a Spanish event at an unspecified track on 10 March.
This has now been removed, and instead the series will open at Monza a fortnight later.
As expected, the ‘tba’ venue for what is now round two on 7 April will be Marrakech.
There are several date changes for the non-European events in the second half of the season, the most significant of which is Suzuka and Shanghai swapping places in the schedule, as the Japanese round moves from October to September and the Chinese event is put back to November.
The calendar also includes the WTCC’s first ever visit to Russia at the new Moscow Raceway.
