Mazda’s order books for the attractive 2014 Mazda 6 are open and prices for the redesigned sedan have been released. According to Mazda, the new 6 will start at “about” $21,795 for an entry-level Sport model, with the mid-level Touring requiring $25,295, and the range-topping Grand Touring commanding $30,295. It’s worth noting that the tentative price has gone up $120 since yesterday afternoon.

- Instrumented Test: 2013 Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD
- Instrumented Test: 2013 Mazda CX-5 Sport Manual
The sedan, which debuted at the Moscow auto show over the summer, will debut with just one engine choice: a 2.5-liter four making 189 hp. Sport buyers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a six-cog automatic, while Touring and Grand Touring Mazda 6s will be auto-only. A 2.2-liter diesel engine will become available later next year; we’ve driven the new 6 both with the Skyactiv gas engine and diesel and found it to be excellent regardless of the type of fuel the tank requires. Mazda will begin deliveries of the new 6 in January of next year.
