The UFC Heavyweight Championship will be on the line to close out 2012, as Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez will meet in a rematch of their UFC on Fox 1 headliner. The event will head to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Dec. 29, and tickets for the card will go on sale this week.

Dos Santos captured the belt from Velasquez in their first meeting last year, stopping him in just 64 seconds in the UFC's first ever fight on network television. The bout was seen by over ten million viewers between the live peak rating of the fight and subsequent DVR viewings, making it the most watched U.S. MMA bout ever.

Both fighters have competed once this year, earning stoppage victories at UFC 146 in May. Dos Santos successfully defended the title against Frank Mir, while Velasquez earned another bout with dos Santos when he destroyed Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in that night's main event. For Velasquez, this is his chance to erase the memory of last year's fight, and avenge the only loss he's suffered in his career.

"Cain is on a mission to get the belt back and avenge the only loss of his career," UFC President Dana White said. "He wants to prove that he's still the best heavyweight in the world. But Junior is one of the hardest-hitting fighters ever and he proved that by knocking out Cain and Frank Mir in back to back fights. This is the perfect fight to end 2012!"

Tickets are priced between $75-$800 for the event, and go on sale to the general public this Friday, October 26. UFC Fight Club members get first access to tickets with a presale on Wednesday, October 24, and UFC newsletter subscribers get a presale beginning on Thursday, October 25.
