Dana White would “absolutely, positively” let Ronda Rousey fight inside the Octagon

It wasn’t long ago UFC President Dana White shrugged off the notion of women fighting under his organization’s banner, citing the lack of divisional depth as one of the primary factors driving his decision. While White hasn’t changed his tune on the problems with promoting a relatively shallow talent pool, it looks like the outspoken executive is now open to a handful of singular contests inside the Octagon starting with an appearance from budding superstar Ronda Rousey.

“I absolutely, positively would bring Ronda Rousey into the UFC,” confirmed White to a group of reporters after the conclusion of UFC on Fuel 5. “I think she’s f*cking awesome. I think she’s mean, I think she’s nasty, and she’s a real fighter. I like watching her fight.”

“There (are) still some fun fights for Ronda and some of the other women too, but you’d have to do some one-offs,” White continued, referring to his interest in seeing the unbeaten Rousey clash with Cris “Cyborg” Santos.

However, as receptive as White has become to seeing women go at it in the UFC, he was also quick to point out Santos, Rousey, and a number of other top female fighters are under contract to Strikeforce and won’t necessarily be available to break down any gender barriers in the UFC for quite some time.
