The timing was right for former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar to make the move down a weight class to compete at featherweight. An injury to Erik Koch opened the doors for Edgar to step into a featherweight title fight against champion Jose Aldo at UFC 153.
Former light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will square off against the dangerous Glover Teixeira. Welterweight mainstay Jon Fitch returns to action against the up-and-coming Erick Silva. Also on tap is a light heavyweight clash between Phil Davis and Wagner Prado. They will look to finish what they started at UFC on Fox 4 in a bout that was ruled a No Contest after an accidedntal eye poke by Davis.
UFC 153 takes place on October 13th from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
