As we suspected, the new RAV4 will arrive just in time for the new year, making its worldwide debut the 2012 Los Angeles auto show as a 2013 model. Although we haven’t seen it in the metal yet, we have captured several camouflaged mules running about, and featured a rendering with some additional details as well, so we have a bit of an idea of what to expect.
Based on our intelligence, the new RAV4 will be softer, smoother, and more contemporary than the outgoing model. In short, more like a car, and less like an SUV. The new exterior also will be brought closer into the Toyota family design mold, as the outgoing RAV4 had a tendency to look a bit like a red-headed stepchild when posing for family photos.
