Robert Kubica’s crash means Jan Kopecky holds a 1m22.1s lead over Craig Breen going into the final loop of Rally Canary Islands stages.
Kubica had been over a minute clear of Janner Rally winner Kopecky when he hit a barrier and damaged his Citroen on stage 10, San Bartolome de Tirajana.
That left Kopecky looking secure at the head of the field in his works Skoda.
It should also have put two Sainteloc Peugeot drivers on the provisional podium, but a pair of punctures forced Breen’s team-mate Jeremi Ancian out.
Event promoter Luis Monzon is therefore up to third in his Mini.
The morning loop of three stages will now be repeated after service to conclude the rally.
