“My heart and prayers go out to our injured fans in Daytona,” Stated Danny Efland after Saturday’s Nationwide race. He continued, “the drivers and crews know that this can be a dangerous sport but NASCAR works constantly to improve our safety. The tracks work to protect our fans but when things go wrong as they did Saturday, it brings a realization to all of us that we must learn from what happens, especially in protecting our fans who are there to have a good time and do not deserve to be at risk. I wish a speedy recovery to each of them.”

“My Flex Seal Camaro from Johnny Davis Motorsports was an excellent car that kept me in the lead pack all day,” said Danny, “we had worked on drafting and the air so we were prepared to run with the other cars in the tight 25 car packs. With a conservative race plan I did not intend to really race until the last quarter of the event. Crew chief, Dave Smith and his men did a perfect job with pit strategy and the spotter kept me out of trouble.

When it was time to go we went. Everything worked out until with about 5 laps to go several cars tangled on the top of the track. I got down on the apron and all seemed fine until a spinning Kasey Kahne bounced off the outer wall and came down, collecting me. I finished 4 laps down in 25th place. Even so, I am very encouraged for this season. I led my first lap in a NASCAR race and have the great people at Flex Seal supporting many of the races this year.

I am looking forward to Bristol. See you at the races.”
