Tandy joins Falken for Sebring

Nick TandyNick Tandy will drive for the Walker Racing-run Falken team at the American Le Mans Series-opening Sebring 12 Hours.

The 28-year-old Briton marked his debut as a Porsche factory driver by taking pole position in the GT class for last weekend’s Daytona 24 Hours.

He will now partner Falken regulars Bryan Sellars and Wolf Henzler in the 911 GT3 RSR at the March 16 event.

“To join Wolf and Bryan, and Derrick Walker’s team is an honour and something I intend to make the most of,” said Tandy, the 2011 Carrera Cup Germany champion.

“The team has been having great results with its partnership with Porsche on both sides of the Atlantic and I hope to be able to contribute to even more development and success.”

Porsche has yet to reveal Tandy’s full programme for 2013.

Last year he was awarded the Porsche Cup for the best season-long performance in Porsche machinery by a non-factory driver. He finished second in the International GT Open as well as winning four races in the ADAC GT Masters.
