With the early 2013 season bad luck behind them, crew chief Mark Browning will utilize chassis JDM 016. This new car for JD Motorsports will turn its first competitive laps at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. The 1.5 mile track, known for high speeds and large crowds, is located just outside of Fort Worth, Texas.
The track will play host to the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 on Friday night, as well as another Nationwide event late in the season. The importance of finding the right setup will be pivotal as competitors look to run well at the fall event leading to the culmination of a season long points battle.
While most drivers would consider two weekends away from the track a nice vacation, Wallace spent the past weekend at the racetrack working with his son Matt in Missouri. In addition to helping further his sons’ racing career and working with marketing partners, Wallace also completed household chores, catching up before the 21-race stretch over summer.
Mike Wallace Quotes: “Having two weekends away from the track, in a row, is unusual. I enjoyed helping my son Matt at the track in Missouri, while catching up on things around the house. But now the attention turns to Texas. The new car should be fast, and with the support of G&K Services I am hoping for a strong run.”
Tune in for the Win
