IndyCar officials have decided to postpone the rookie orientation programme for the Indianapolis 500 because of concerns about the weather.
The test was scheduled for April 11, but the poor weather forecast meant the session was likely to be hit by rain.
Drivers AJ Allmendinger, Conor Daly, Carlos Munoz and Tristan Vautier are scheduled to participate in the test.
Officials said they will announce the new date soon.
“We have been monitoring the weather reports in Indianapolis to make sure the conditions would be suitable for ample on-track activity,” said Brian Barnhart, INDYCAR’s president of operations and strategy.
“With the strong chance for rain and lower ambient temperatures, we felt it was best to postpone [it] until a later date.”
