Floyd Mayweather Jr. once again a free man

Renowned boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. is officially a free man again after being released earlier today from jail in Las Vegas where he was serving a 90-day sentence stemming from a domestic battery charge. Mayweather had been behind bars since June 1.

No word was given on why Mayweather was only required to serve sixty days instead of the complete term.

The decorated pugilist was found guilty in an incident from this past December where he was accused of assaulting the mother of his children. He has been linked to a number of other incidents involving violent behavior towards others outside of the ring responsible for his fame and fortune.

Mayweather did not comment to media after exiting the correctional facility, briefly meeting with friends and family before heading off in a waiting car.

The next step for Mayweather is to apply for a new license to fight in the State of Nevada. His May 5 match-up with Miguel Cotto was the only bout on his previous agreement with the NAC.
