"I'm a different fighter every time I come out. I have a lot of weapons in my arsenal. My strength, my conditioning, my athleticism has come up a considerable amount and just mentally, I'm in a good place. We're at an equal disadvantage. We're both missing Greg [Jackson] who is a big component of our training and our preparation and our strategizing. Fighting in front of Georges' hometown might throw a lot of other guys off but mentally, I'm pretty strong. I'll be able to put all that stuff aside and just do what I came to do. I'm on the precipice of achieving my life goal. I want to fight the best Georges and beat that guy."

-In a pre-fight interview for UFC.com, Interim UFC Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit his strengths and his drive into his bout with Georges St-Pierre (transcribed by MMAMania.com).

Penick's Analysis: I don't know how realistic it is to expect the "best Georges" to show up in this fight. It just might be impossible after 20 months out of action, not to mention ACL surgery. That doesn't make him any less of a difficult opponent, and indeed St-Pierre at 90% is still likely a rightly favorite over the roster. He's simply shown himself to be above and beyond all those he's fought in the last several years. Condit wants to change that trend. He wants to showcase his abilities, and prove himself as the best of the best in the 170 lb. division. He may not get to do that against the "best" version of GSP, but if he pulls it off at all it will still be a massive feat.
